Hello blog readers,
I want to share something with you that has really blessed me. God has been ministering to me about wisdom lately. I was recently working to memorize the first chapter of Ephesians — which is a beautiful reminder of God’s gifts of forgiveness, redemption & His precious Holy Spirit to us — when my heart became drawn to scripture about wisdom. Everyday, I listen to Proverbs 8 and 9 on audio bible. I can’t get enough of hearing about the attributes of wisdom, as found in those chapters. The more I hear, the more I desire His wisdom. One evening, I sat quietly, waiting for God to reveal to me what I can do now to have His wisdom. He began to minister to my heart.. and I began to write:
“Wisdom says this: Whoever eats this meat I have prepared will live. I make my place in the heart of God’s servant. To worship Him is the beginning of wisdom. To fear Him is where worship begins. Adoring, admiring, looking to for sound judgment, appreciating Him, loving Him with all your heart is where it begins. I, wisdom, am new to nothing. I’ve been around since before the earth was formed. I love the children of man. If you love me, I give back more than you can imagine. I waste nothing. Time nor money can compare to what I bring forth. I waste nothing. Time nor money can bring you peace of mind, but I can resolve anything. I have an answer for every situation. I am worth the wait. I am worth the wait. I am worth the wait. I will bless you immensely. I will give you more than you ask for. Your face will shine in the presence of God’s love. My child, you will hear me say, well done. You are loved. Amen.”
Proverbs 4:7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
You are loved, child of God. You are well prepared for more than you realize. You are well prepared for growth. Get wisdom.

Hello blog readers,
It’s been a little over two weeks since I’ve written, and God happens to have spoken to me about the same thing: wisdom. It actually makes my heart for Him grow, because in the days following my last blog, I haven’t been acting wisely. I found myself allowing irritations with others to grow. In some instances it’s led to gossip. It’s also led to me keeping score of how many times people have offended me — which led to grudges and unforgiveness. I know, a mess. But God is so loving, and faithful – that He’s taken my area of weakness, and demonstrated His strength.
I had a really good conversation with a group of Christian leaders this evening. We shared a meal, and studied some material on leadership. During our discussion, I made a date with God. I silently prayed, telling Him I wanted to spend time alone with Him tonight, to elaborate on some of the things we touched on during our discussion. I came home and prayed, and ended up talking about things I didn’t expect to talk about with God. As I sat quietly, listening for His response, His Holy Spirit began speaking about wisdom. I wrote in my journal, as I sat in His peaceful presence. This is what was given:
“Wisdom is God’s gift to anyone who diligently and earnestly follows His Son. His gift of wisdom refreshes the spirit of the one receiving it. May God bless you with wisdom today. The gift of wisdom is better than wealth. It keeps better than foolish wisdom. There is a difference. This wisdom is better than man’s wisdom. It is better than interesting debate. It is kept in tact by the Holy Spirit, and distributed according to His Will. Favor is not wisdom. Wisdom is highly favored.
It is wisdom that brings out the best in you. Wisdom keeps you in line when you want to destroy friendships over emotional outbursts. Wisdom is in the waiting. Searching the Father’s heart through meditation of His Word is the way to wisdom. Searching God’s heart through worship is where we find wisdom. Wisdom is given in time, and over time. In time, meaning, it comes when needed. And over time, meaning, we receive what we need through seeking the heart of God, spending time daily in His presence, and searching the Word of God. His Holy Spirit reminds us of His faithfulness and commitment toward us.
The way we seek God reflects our heart for wisdom. If we ask for wisdom and never seek God, we ask in vain… for it is only God’s spirit who can impart Himself unto others. No one can speak for God. His hand is over every part of your life. If you believe this, you will be given life in union with authority, affection for God, and knowledge of fortunate intimacy with God. Amen.”
I’m so thankful that God is patient, and merciful, and forgiving. The importance of staying connected to Him is critical for every believer. I know when I need to spend more time in His presence. My attitude tells on me. My lack of empathy tells on me. My emotional outbursts tell on me. My lack of wisdom tells on me.
Lord, you are awesome and amazing. Thank you for nurturing me in a way that only you can. When I fail, you pick me up and show me how to do things your way. Your love is unfailing. Thank you for a wonderful date. The meal was amazing. Amen.
**Read Proverbs Chapters 8 and 9.**
Proverbs 9:1-6 Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars. She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city, “Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says, “Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”
Proverbs 9:10-12 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
The worst thing I can do is pretend to be wise. It grieves the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Wisdom given by the word of man is not able to make effective change in the hearts of other men. Wisdom from above is unrelinquishing. It will not let go of us.
Your faith is what keeps you informed. Wisdom of the heart is a priceless gift from God.
‘Wear your heart on your sleeve’ is an expression of the world.
The wisdom from God is to guard your heart.
Proverbs 4:23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
The wisdom of man would advise you to gain wisdom from other men.
The wisdom of God advises to seek first the Kingdom, and all other things will be added to you.
Wisdom will elevate a person’s moral standards. A standard of morals is required to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Ephesians 5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person–such a person is an idolater–has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
The wisdom of man will advise you to ‘wash your hands’ before entering the ministry.
The wisdom of God allows you to wash your heart first.
Your appreciation of the discipline of God will bring forth more wisdom.
Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
The wisdom of God is a wellspring of promise.
It will keep you as you make yourself available to receive.
You will find rest in the midst of trembling.
Proverbs 28:26 Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.
Wisdom from God places honor before a person’s name.
The Person of God wants to restore your precious name.
A good name is better than precious oil.
Allow Him to impress wisdom from above into your heart by presenting it clean before Him.
These words from my heart were given by power of the Holy Spirit. I’m not the giver of wisdom. My Father is. His name is Jehovah.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me…”
Proverbs chapter 8 is one of my favorite chapters in the bible. I love, love, love it! In it, the spirit of wisdom describes itself.
12 “I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment.
I know where to discover knowledge and discernment.
13 All who fear the Lord will hate evil.
Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance,
corruption and perverse speech.
14 Common sense and success belong to me.
Insight and strength are mine.
15 Because of me, kings reign,
and rulers make just decrees.
16 Rulers lead with my help,
and nobles make righteous judgments.
17 “I love all who love me.
Those who search will surely find me.
18 I have riches and honor,
as well as enduring wealth and justice.
19 My gifts are better than gold, even the purest gold,
my wages better than sterling silver!
20 I walk in righteousness,
in paths of justice.
21 Those who love me inherit wealth.
I will fill their treasuries.
22 “The Lord formed me from the beginning,
before he created anything else.
23 I was appointed in ages past,
at the very first, before the earth began.
24 I was born before the oceans were created,
before the springs bubbled forth their waters.
25 Before the mountains were formed,
before the hills, I was born—
26 before he had made the earth and fields
and the first handfuls of soil.
27 I was there when he established the heavens,
when he drew the horizon on the oceans.
28 I was there when he set the clouds above,
when he established springs deep in the earth.
29 I was there when he set the limits of the seas,
so they would not spread beyond their boundaries.
And when he marked off the earth’s foundations,
30 I was the architect at his side.
I was his constant delight,
rejoicing always in his presence.
31 And how happy I was with the world he created;
how I rejoiced with the human family!
The Holy Spirit ministered something to me this week that can benefit all of us. I never thought of it in the way it was explained — but it makes total sense.
A person’s speech reflects their purpose. If a person’s heart is not in line with God’s spirit, their speech will reflect it.
I personally know that when we practice bad speech, it’s almost natural to say things that aren’t supposed to come out of the mouths of God’s children.
Ephesians 5:4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes–these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.
Be kind to one another. Don’t let a bad saying come out of your mouth. Keep God in your heart, and He will make your speech a precious sound.
Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Your speech hosts miraculous power when you speak the word of God from a clean heart. A clean heart is the backbone of a miracle.
A clean heart has no tolerance for a wicked tongue. The word of God is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts to the soul. The deepest part of any creature in the physical realm is the soul — and God’s word reaches it when spoken from a clean heart.
It would be unwise for us to believe that we can use our mouths to say disgusting things, and then ask God for His promises. His promises are for those clean of heart and mind. A clean heart has no tolerance for a wicked tongue.
Speech is a reflection of the hearts motive.
Luke 6:45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Proverbs 13:3 Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
The Holy Spirit revealed to me that a person’s praise will bring forth their purpose — and their purpose will bring forth praise. If a person’s speech reflects the inward parts of their heart, how would praise from an obscene mouth smell to our Heavenly Father?
Let’s be conscious of the way we speak, so that we are not presenting a filthy fragrance before God.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
It would be plagiarism if I allow you to think that I wrote this article. The worst thing I can do is pretend to be wise. It grieves the Holy Spirit. The truth is, I typed the message — but, my Heavenly Father gave me the words. The words that I share are from Him. He is my Provider. Draw near to Him. We wants to uniquely share with every one of His children by power of His precious Holy Spirit.
James 4:8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
