Why waking up early isn’t so bad

Do you ever set your alarm clock for a certain time — but frequently wake up before the alarm goes off? I’m sure this has happened to me countless times. As I walk in my Christian faith, I’m realizing that those early awakenings are no coincidence! The Holy Spirit is a person, and He wants to spend time with you. That extra 30 minutes, or hour in His presence could be the key to unlocking the precise wisdom you need to make it through that day *in line with God’s will for your life*.

The “in line” part is exciting for me. That’s how I want to live every day. I used to think that it’s my responsibility to figure out what I want to do with my life. I couldn’t figure out why it was so difficult for me to pick a college major. 17 years after high school, I’m still without a degree. The amazing thing about that is this: God doesn’t operate under any man’s authority. The very thing that people believe is required to qualify a person for something is irrelevant when God smiles upon you.

I’m not saying I’m a saint who God has constantly smiled at. We all fall short of God’s glory! That’s truth from the Apostle Paul. I walked in sin and/or ignorance for most of my life. I’m grateful that I was under God’s grace, and He was loving enough to choose *not to remember* my sin when I repented and ran to Him.

I recently attended a service at my newly-joined church, RainFire Church in Douglasville, GA. I live 5 hours away. I’ll tell you why I joined a church in another state in a later blog. During that service, my Pastor’s Father, Apostle Nahum Rosario said this about God: ” Not remembering is a quality! Forgetting is a fault. God can never forget, but He can choose not to remember.” How wonderful and merciful for Him to choose to ‘not remember’ all of our sins when we repent.

Back to walking in line with God’s will… consider this scripture:

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

That scripture made me realize something I spent years being confused about. It’s not up to me to figure out what I WANT to do with my life. It’s up to me to get in line with the Holy Spirit, so that I can walk the path God prepared for me.

We live feeling unsatisfied when we’re not in line with what God prepared in advance for us. His plan is nothing to fear. Don’t ever believe that a Good God would prepare a path for you that you would dread or hate.

Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good

This morning, I woke up with a sweet song on my heart. Take comfort in these lyrics as you push forward in your faith journey. With love:

Good Good Father

I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think Your like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
You tell me that Your pleased and that I’m never alone

Chrous:

You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Verse 2:

I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching for answers only you provide
Because You know just what we need before we say a word

Bridge:
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

Verse 3:
Love so undeniable I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable I can hardly think
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
Into love love love
